CAST CONNEX assisted in the creation of and sponsored a Continuing Education Article on Structural Steel Cast Connections which ran in the December 2014 issue of Architectural Record.
The article provides a background on the metal casting process, discusses the history of the use of steel castings in architectural construction, and highlights the most common types of cast steel connections, including Universal Pin Connectors, Architectural Tapers, High Strength Connectors, and Custom Castings. The article goes on to provide information on the specification of steel castings and closes with three case studies on projects which included steel castings in their design and construction.
The article will continue to be available online for all of 2015. With several hundred practicing architects having taken the test within the first week of its posting, it promises to be one of AR’s most successful Continuing Education Articles.
