Located on Main Street just across from the main gate, the Alumni and Student Engagement Center is a signature building for Clark University: a place where alumni reconnect with each other and their alma mater, and a home for alumni, faculty and outside partners to share their expertise and provide career mentorship to its students. This boldly designed building perpetuates and strengthens Clark University’s commitment to the Main South community, and reaffirms its reputation as a leading institution of higher education.
Topped with a solar canopy supported atop architecturally exposed structural steel columns fitted with CAST CONNEX® Universal Pin Connectors™ + Architectural Tapers™, the innovative new Clark University Alumni and Student Engagement Center transforms the Main Street block facing iconic Jonas Clark Hall, reframing the experience. A new campus entry terrace and park diagonally links the main campus green with University Park, providing a continuous greenway that unifies the campus and will serve as a catalyst for further improvements to the Main South area.
Designed in concept to generate 50% of its estimated annual power needs from a rooftop photovoltaic array and the remaining 50% from photovoltaic canopies on the adjacent parking lot, Clark’s new building has the potential to achieve zero-net energy performance.
