The following analysis was conducted to compare the total cost of a typical field-welded Special Concentrically Braced Frame (SCBF) connection detail to the total cost of a field-bolted SCBF connection using Cast Connex High Strength Connectors (HSC). The details that were compared are illustrated in Figure 1 below.
