Laurie-Eve-Cormier Aquatic Complex

Boucherville

The Laurie-Eve-Cormier Aquatic Complex in Boucherville, completed in 2017, replaced the 1966 Pierre Laporte Sports Centre. While maintaining the original center's appearance, the new complex features walls coated with colored glass ceramic with photocatalytic properties for optimizing natural light.

This facility includes two 25-meter indoor swimming pools—one with eight lanes and four diving boards for family use and another with ten lanes for elite swimmers. It also houses a recreational pool, a dojo, a training room, changing rooms, and two saunas. A walkway and bleacher seating for up to 200 people overlooks the pools.

Elevated design for projects of any budget

CAST CONNEX standardized connectors are available in a range of sizes to fit standard member profiles. These pre-engineered products are affordable enough to be used repetitively or as a one-off. Each connector is designed to simplify fabrication labor, especially in architecturally exposed applications.

CAST CONNEX Universal Pin Connectors (UPC) were specified for the exposed steel braces in the facility. The smooth transitional geometry, designed and engineered for use in architecturally exposed applications, allows the braced frames to be exposed without compromising the architectural design.
