CAST CONNEX UK Director Sits on 2024 CTBUH Annual Awards Structure Jury

We at CAST CONNEX are proud to announce that our own Jennifer Anna Pazdon, M.Sc.Eng., P.E., is serving on the Structures Award jury for the CTBUH International Conference taking place between the 23rd and 27th of September 2024

The CTBUH Annual Awards program recognizes projects, practices, and individuals that have made extraordinary contributions to the advancement of tall buildings and the urban built environment, and that achieve sustainability and human well-being.  

Jennifer is the Vice President and UK Division Director at CAST CONNEX, with nearly two decades of experience in structural design and construction, Pazdon embodies CAST CONNEX’s world-renowned support for engineers, architects, and contractors in the use of cast steel connections to optimize performance, economy, aesthetics, and constructability in built environments around the world.

CAST CONNEX is best known for the company’s contribution to the MSG Sphere in Las Vegas, NV, as well as a wide range of projects around the globe as the world leader in the design, engineering and supply of steel castings for construction. CAST CONNEX has provided tens of thousands of cast steel components for successful projects in North America and has recently opened an office in London, where CAST CONNEX is posed for dedicated attention to designers and construction professionals working on projects globally.

The world leader in the design and engineering of cast steel connections for building and bridge construction, CAST CONNEX was founded in 2007 based on the University of Toronto graduate research of Carlos de Oliveira and co-founder and Executive Vice President Dr. Michael Gray. Since then, the company has achieved significant acclaim in the AEC industry, having been involved in many prominent developments around the globe, benefiting from the widespread adoption of their standardized cast steel connector products as well as design-built custom castings, which provide unparalleled structural performance, aesthetics, and economy.

Pazdon is a licensed engineer in New York State. After working as a structural engineering consultant based in NYC, Africa, and SE Asia, she joined CAST CONNEX in 2016, is the Chair of AASHTO/NSBA Task Group 17: Steel Castings, Member of the BCSA Connections Group, Member of the CTBUH EDI Committee, Member of the Princeton CEE Advisory Council, and Past-Director of the Structural Engineers Association of New York.

The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat launched its annual awards program in 2002 with the Lynn S. Beedle Lifetime Achievement Award, followed by the Fazlur R. Khan Lifetime Achievement Award in 2004. In 2007, they began recognizing team achievements in tall building projects with the Best Tall Building awards. The program has since grown to acknowledge specific industry advancements and honor buildings, innovations, and individuals driving the industry forward, becoming one of the most renowned and prestigious awards programs affording recognition to innovation and excellence within the AEC community.

Award of Excellence Winners in every category will showcase their projects to live juries at the CTBUH 2024 International Conference, New or Renew—The Density Dilemma. During this event, the Overall Winner for each category will be chosen and announced. Additionally, submissions may be featured in the Tall+Urban publication, an annual compilation that highlights the year's most innovative and notable projects.
